CKMCCA Sponsored Activities

2008 CKMCCA Scholarship Winner

The 2008 Clifton Knolls-Mill Creek Scholarship Winner was announced on April 23 at our Annual Meeting. MaryJane Anderson is this year’s winner of a $500 scholarship, which she will take with her to the University of Vermont in the fall.
MaryJane has demonstrated a great academic record, ranking 7th in the senior class at Shenendehowa. She has participated in many extracurricular activities at Shen, including cross country, Nordic and alpine skiing, and indoor and outdoor track. But it is her community contributions where she shines. She has been a Girl Scout since second grade, and she and her family have trained a Labrador retriever for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Most recently she has been a part of CAPTAIN’s Teen Talk/Phone Friend program, where she answers calls from teens to a hotline. It gives teenagers a peer to talk to if the need help with homework or want to discuss personal issues.

All of this while being a triplet and having to share the car with her brother and sister! The CKMCCA congratulates MaryJane and wishes her luck at UVM in the fall.

2007 Halloween Parade and Party

The 2007 CKMCCA Halloween parade and party was held on Sunday, October 28th. As shown in the pictures at the right, the parade featured a ghostly presence as the trick-or-treaters marched (or rode) from Barney Road to Locust Lane. The party was full of treats and games for the costumed Halloweeners who turned out in great numbers with the fine weather we had. We owe a special thank-you to our volunteers who organized and staged this event. The Halloween parade and party is the first of many activities brought to you by the CKMCCA. See our Calendar on this web site for further event scheduling.
